The Simply Jazz Call & Response book with play-a-long CD is built around variations of the Bb concert scale. Ed has featured the seven most popular scales used in Jazz throughout the Call & Response book. Following each one of the seven scales, that scale is then featured in all of the keys.  There are several different feels that go with these scales.  If students are finding it difficult to respond to the call they will find the written responses in the second section of their books.

Each part shows the notes of the particular scale that is featured on each track.  The "call" examples are within one octave.  The blues scale has been featured constantly throughout the SIMPLY JAZZ SERIES.

THE BONUS CD has the seven scales that have been featured throughout the Call & Response book.   Each track runs for approximately 10 minutes without key changes. This gives the students plenty of time to become comfortable playing in the one key.
